Man City complete £46million deal for AC Milan star Tijjani Reijnders as Pep Guardiola lands his fourth signing of the summer – and midfielder WILL be able to play at the Club World Cup

Manchester City have completed their transfer business before the Club World Cup by landing Tijjani Reijnders for an initial £46million. 

Reijnders sealed a move from AC Milan earlier in the week and despite the announcement coming after the temporary window shut, the 26-year-old is available for the tournament in America.

City have secured three new outfield faces – Rayan Ait-Nouri and Rayan Cherki also signing this week – for around £115m after saying they walked away from a deal for Florian Wirtz over finances.

Wirtz is putting the finishing touches to a British record switch to Liverpool, while City focused their attention on Cherki at Lyon in that position.

Reijnders, the energetic central midfielder, should form a crucial part of City’s rebuild in an area of the pitch they struggled last season.

The Holland international underwent his medical at the weekend before linking back up with his international teammates ahead of Tuesday night’s 8-0 victory over Malta.

Reijnders is Pep Guardiola’s fourth signing of the summer and will play at the Club World Cup

Serie A midfielder of the year Reijnders has agreed a five-year contract.
