Manchester City‘s desire to keep hold of Ederson could see Manchester United miss out on Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens, according to a report.

The final week of the transfer window is set to be dominated by a potential goalkeeper merry-go-round, with several high-profile shot-stoppers still expected to be on the move.

At PSG, Gianluigi Donnarumma has already said his goodbyes after being forced out of the club due to his refusal to sign a contract extension. Man City are his most realistic destination, and there is already an agreement on personal terms.

However, the Italian’s move to the Etihad hinges on the departure of Ederson. Sky Sports continues to insist – as it has done throughout this saga – that the Premier League giants do not want to sell the Brazil international.

Ederson has an agreement in place with Galatasaray, who want to bring in a marquee goalkeeper after the departure of club legend Fernando Muslera, but they have not yet been able to find break Man City’s resolve.

Galatasaray target Lammens

Transfer insider Sacha Tavolieri now reports that Man City’s reluctance to sell Ederson could be bad news for Man Utd in their pursuit of a new goalkeeper.

The Red Devils have identified Royal Antwerp star Senne Lammens as their top target and likely final signing of the summer, with talks over a transfer currently in full swing. The Jupiler Pro League side are reportedly demanding up to €25 million for the shot-stopper.

However, the Belgian journalist reports that Galatasaray have also taken a liking to Lammens, who is seen as a genuine alternative to Ederson, and that an offer has been placed.

A delegation from Galatasaray is said to have been at Antwerp’s 2-1 home victory over Mechelen on Sunday to hold face-to-face talks with the club’s board regarding a move for Lammens.

Man Utd are confident of signing the 23-year-old, but Galatasaray are ready to rival the Red Devils for the promising goalkeeper.
