Manchester United and Tottenham now know the teams they could face in this season’s Europa League.
All 36 teams, and the pots they will be placed in, have been confirmed following the conclusion of the play-off round.
The draw, scheduled to take place on Friday afternoon, will follow the same format as the one conducted for the Champions League on Thursday evening.
Man United, Spurs and the other 34 competing teams will each face eight other sides – four at home and four away – to determine where they finish in the league phase.
The top eight progress directly to the last 16, while teams ranked between ninth and 24th will enter a play off round to join them. Clubs who end the league phase below 24th will be eliminated from European competition altogether.
Two Premier League teams will soon learn their opponents for this season’s Europa League
Man United and Tottenham will each play eight games in the revamped league format

Pot one includes the two Premier League clubs along with the likes of Roma, Rangers and 2022 winners Eintracht Frankfurt.
Real Sociedad and Lyon will be among the teams to avoid in pot two, while Galatasaray – who finished above United in last season’s Champions League group stage – headline pot three.
Nice – who, like United, are also partly owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS – and Athletic Bilbao, due to host the 2025 Europa League final, are in pot four along with Latvian minnows FK Rīgas Futbola Skola and Swedish outfit Elfsborg.
United and Spurs cannot be drawn together. Clubs can also only face a maximum of two teams from each country.
The final of the competition will be hosted at the San Mames stadium in Bilbao in May
The two sides will learn who they are playing home and away on Friday but the full list of fixtures, and when they will be staged, is not due to be published until Saturday.
Both United and Spurs will harbour hopes of lifting the trophy in Bilbao next May, with victory in the tournament guaranteeing a spot in the Champions League.
