Bruno Fernandes paid tribute to Kevin De Bruyne as the Belgian star featured in his final Manchester derby on Sunday.
The points were shared in a 0-0 stalemate at Old Trafford, as either side were able to forge many chances in what was one of the most forgettable derbies in recent years.
De Bruyne announced earlier this week that he will leave Manchester City this summer, bringing an end to his decade-long stay at the Etihad.
Over the past 10 years he has played a starring role in City’s dominance, winning six Premier League titles, five Carabao Cups, two FA Cups, and, of course, the Champions League to complete the Treble in 2023.
In 413 appearances for City across all competitions, De Bruyne has scored 106 goals and registered 174 assists.
After Sunday’s derby, Fernandes took a moment to serenade City’s maestro, stating that it was a ‘pleasure’ to face off against his rival.

De Bruyne confirmed earlier this week he will leave Man City as a free agent this summer

Fernandes said De Bruyne ‘made the Premier League better’ and it was a ‘pleasure’ to face him
The Manchester United captain said: ‘He made the Premier League better, if City is where it is and Man United have not won as many trophies in this period, it is also because of Kevin De Bruyne.
‘He deserves all the credit, 10 years in the Premier League is a lot. They have decided to part ways, I don’t know from whose side.
‘Kevin keeps being world class and it was a pleasure to watch him so close and play against him.
‘He is going to stay in the history of the Premier League, not just Man City.’
Having confirmed he will be leaving City this summer, attention will quickly turn to where De Bruyne could go next.
Mail Sport understands a lucrative switch to Saudi Arabia or the US is very likely to be De Bruyne’s next move.
He was heavily linked with a transfer to the Middle East last summer, but ended up remaining at City for another season.
MLS’ newest club San Diego FC revealed last month that they have held talks with De Bruyne as he weighs up his future.
