Man United midfielder Casemiro ‘could join Inter Miami this summer’ after he confirmed Old Trafford exit – with two other clubs ‘chasing his signature’

Manchester United midfielder could leave the club for Inter Miami in the summer, a report has claimed.

According to The Sun, the midfielder has attracted interested from the MLS side – where Lionel Messi plays – as well as from Sao Paulo in Brazil and Porto in Portugal.

The 33-year-old’s deal at Old Trafford is up at the end of the season, and it was revealed in January that he would be leaving when it expires, bringing an end to his four-year stay at the club.

United have been preparing for some time for a major midfield overhaul which could see as many as four new faces join the summer, with Nottingham Forest‘s Elliot Anderson and Brighton‘s Carlos Baleba their two top targets.

Casemiro is not part of the club’s future, and he is therefore on the hunt for a new team – with Inter Miami among the sides targeting the veteran.

Casemiro was reportedly in Miami this week with his wife to scout the area ahead of a potential move, which could see him become the 28th player to play with both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

While Messi is seeing out his career at the franchise owned by David Beckham, Casemiro featured 122 times alongside Ronaldo for both Real Madrid and United.

‘I will carry Manchester United with me throughout my entire life,’ Casemiro said in a statement as his departure was confirmed.

‘From the first day that I walked out at this beautiful stadium, I felt the passion of Old Trafford and the love that I now share with our supporters for this special club.

‘It is not time to say goodbye; there are many more memories to create during the next four months.

‘We still have a lot to fight for together; my complete focus will, as always, remain on giving my everything to help our club to succeed.’

Casemiro joined Manchester United from Real Madrid in a £70million deal back in 2022 and he is currently the club’s top earner on £375,000-a-week.

Having been written off in his second season, Casemiro has bounced back to play a key role for United under Ruben Amorim, Darren Fletcher, and now Michael Carrick.

It is reported that clubs from Saudi Arabia are also interested in his services from the summer.

Sao Paulo, meanwhile, is the club where Casemiro played as a youth player. It is reported that they are prepared to offer him a two-year contract, as well as a non-playing role for when his career is over.
