Manchester United paid tribute to the Munich Air Disaster victims during their clash with Crystal Palace.
Ahead of kick-off supporters congregated outside Old Trafford for a fan-led service underneath the Munich memorial plaque, with club CEO Omar Berrada present.
Ruben Amorim and Oliver Glasner both led their respective teams out and laid flowers on the ground minutes before the game.
Both United and Crystal Palace players wore black armbands to commemorate the 1958 disaster.
Busby Babes Geoff Bent, Roger Byrne, Eddie Colman, Mark Jones, David Pegg, Tommy Taylor and Billy Whelan were killed and Duncan Edwards died in hospital 15 days later.
United coach Bert Whalley, secretary Walter Crickmer and trainer Tom Curry also lost their lives along with two crew members of the flight, journalists and other passengers.
The flight had stopped to refuel in Munich as they returned home from Belgrade where Sir Matt Busby’s side had overcome Red Star to reach the semi-finals of the European Cup.
