Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has taken up a new sport as he looks to impress new head coach Ruben Amorim.

Amorim is set to take charge of his first game as United boss on Sunday when his side face Ipswich away.

Rashford will be determined to build up greater consistency under Amorim after scoring just once in eleven Premier League appearances so far this season.

The 27-year-old will be eager to recapture the form that saw him score 30 goals in all competitions in the 2022-23 campaign.

If he can impress sufficiently then Rashford could force his way back into the England squad after not being selected for Euro 2024 and subsequent matches.

Rashford used his time during the recent international break to work on another sporrt.

As reported by The Sun, Rashford has taken up boxing and mixed martial arts.

Rashford also had sessions with a fighter who specialises in Muay Thai.

United are supportive of Rashford’s actions and feel that it will help him to maintain his fitness.

Rashford recently went to New York, where he watched a basketball game and a UFC cage fight.

A source told The Sun: ‘Marcus has really started to get into fighting in recent years.

‘He’s always enjoyed watching boxing with his mates but he’s also developed an interest in MMA as the sport has become more popular.

‘The club know and have no problem with it.

‘They just think it’s great extra fitness training.’

Rashford will be determined to hit the ground running under Amorim after going eight games without a goal.

The last time that he found the net was in the 3-3 draw against Porto in the Europa League on October 3.
