Manchester United are working with Greater Manchester Police to track down the female supporter who racially abused fan channel presenter Flex after Sunday’s game against Chelsea.
United are horrified by the incident, which left the popular host in stunned silence on air, and strongly condemn the use of language by the fan.
It’s understood that United have identified the woman and passed on her details to GMP to take further action. She is also expected to face club sanctions including a stadium ban.
Flex, who was presenting his United View TV show, posted an image of the fan on social media as well as a video in which he said: ‘The solidarity shown by every single one of you has been amazing.
‘When these things happen, I’m not going to stay silent. When you are black and this happens to you, it takes a lot out of you. I’m tired. Really, really tired. But at the same time, you don’t stop.
WARNING: Strong and abusive language

United are horrified by the incident, which left the popular host in stunned silence on air,
The incident took place outside Old Trafford after United’s draw with Chelsea on Sunday
‘In 2024, as you saw by the reaction, I was stunned. And I’m not stunned racism exists. I’m thick-skinned, every black person knows, and every person who isn’t racist knows racism exists.
‘But just at how overtly racist the incident was. You feel blindsided. They come across as one of you, singing United songs, lure you in thinking it’s just someone having a good time, and then you get caught blindsided with that.
‘Watching it back was difficult for me because that genuine shock on my face of when it switches, you’re in that moment, and a lot of you guys watched it back and thought: ‘did they actually just say that?’
‘I want to clarify this. Listen to me: she absolutely said what she said. There is no circumnavigating or working around it. People need to be held accountable for the things that they do and say.
‘I heard it, you can hear it, and to all of the people that were around me, we all heard it.
‘It is shocking. You think, ‘”nah, they must not have said that”, which was my reaction at that point, so I can understand why some of you lot have said that. But she definitely used the n-word in the context that she used it in.
‘I hope she gets the repercussions and consequences that’s deserved for that. It’s about educating people and being able to understand that if you hold these views and you’re stupid enough to make them public in front of thousands of people, then you’re going to be held accountable.’
United defender Harry Maguire took to social media to with Flex well as he shared a video explaining the incident
Flex received widespread support including from Harry Maguire who posted: ‘Disgraceful. Hope you’re okay @FlexUtd we are all united together.’
Former United coach Benni McCarthy added: ‘That was absolutely unnecessary and you shouldn’t have to deal with such behaviour. Stay strong bro and behind you all the way.’
