Man Utd agree terms with Martinez

Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez ahead of a potential transfer before Monday’s deadline, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils are determined to bring in a new goalkeeper before the transfer window closes, and Antwerp star Senne Lammens has been highlighted as a top target.

However, the Belgian has yet to agree on personal terms with the Mancunian giants, and this could open the door for Martinez to make the switch to Old Trafford in the coming hours.

Romano claims that the 32-year-old has reached a verbal agreement with the club over a contract, and the club are expected to approach Villa regarding a possible summer deal.

The Midlands outfit want around £40 million to part ways with the World Cup winner, but could be willing to accept a loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the current season.

United may still seek a discount on the final price, now that Martinez is pushing for a move away from Villa Park before the deadline.
