Manchester United are close to an agreement to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte, according to L’Equipe.
The Red Devils have been locked in negotiations with Les Parisiens over the past few weeks regarding the Uruguayan star.
They are now close to finalising a loan deal with an obligation to buy. United will have to pay €60m at the end of this seaosn.
The final details are being sorted by the parties involved and Ugarte could soon travel to Manchester for his medical tests.
The former Sporting man has been waiting for the Red Devils since late July and he has already agreed personal terms.
His arrival should improve United’s defensive resolve. Casemiro has been poor with his decision-making in the last year.
The Brazilian ace has impressed with his aggression and chance creation, but has been disappointing with his positioning.
Ugarte, 23, should be an upgrade on the former Real Madrid midfielder, who looks beyond his prime at the age of 32.
