Manchester United are focused on signing Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap amid speculation linking them with Hugo Ekitike.

Ekitike has developed into one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga. He has netted 19 goals and provided eight assists this term.

Eintracht Frankfurt are prepared to sell him in the summer and reports claim that they are set to demand at least £67m for his services.

United have been credited with an interest in the Frenchman, but David Ornstein has said that the club may not spend big on individuals.

The spending could be more cautious and United are not expected to pay £50 million or more on a single player in the summer.

Amids this, it is reported that United are closely monitoring Delap, who has netted 10 goals and provided two assists for Ipswich this term.

The 22-year-old signed for the Tractor Boys from Manchester City for £20m last summer and he could be sold for around £40m.

United should have no trouble in paying the fee but City could act as a stumbling block as they have the option to buy him back for £40m.
