Joshua Zirkzee is ready to leave Manchester United as early as January, according to Italian media.

Criticised by Ruben Amorim after his first game in charge and an unused substitute in the second, things are not going great for the Dutchman under the new regime.

Zirkzee already struggled before Amorim arrived at Old Trafford and his fortunes have yet to improve under the 39-year-old, albeit his reign is only two games old.

Still, Amorim made his early feelings on Zirkzee clear when he preferred to leave him on the bench for the full 90 minutes against Bodo/Glimt midweek.

Speculation surrounding the striker has, of course, been rampant for weeks amid his disappointing start to life at Man Utd and rather than subsiding, the rumours are proliferating.

Zirkzee wants Juventus

Italian media outlets have been all over Zirkzee’s situation at Man Utd and Gazzetta dello Sport now once again mentions the Dutchman in connection with Juventus, coached by his former Bologna boss Thiago Motta.

The report reiterates that Juventus view Zirkzee as their ideal striker reinforcement for January, though bolstering the defence is still the priority. Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has a good relationship with the player’s agent Kia Joorabchian and is ready to pounce.

The Old Lady are purely waiting for Man Utd to signal a willingness to allow Zirkzee to leave on an initial loan, which is something that is not guaranteed to materialise.

What is new is that the outlet now goes so far as to suggest that Zirkzee is actively looking for a way out of Man Utd and is pining to be reunited with Motta.

In the summer, it was already claimed that the striker would have preferred to remain in Serie A rather than move to England, but a deal with AC Milan fell through due to the demands of his agent.
