Eintracht Frankfurt star Nathaniel Brown may not be as expensive as expected this summer, but Manchester United are rivalled by Arsenal, Liverpool and more clubs for his signature.
The 22-year-old has been a standout performer in a struggling Eintracht Frankfurt team this season, scoring three goals and providing six assists from his left wing-back position.
Brown has been starring for the Eagles since joining from second-tier Nurnberg, and he has become a full-fledged Germany international thanks to his exploits. As a result, it is widely expected that he will be on the move this summer.
In fact, Sky Germany previously claimed that it is already “100% confirmed” that Brown will leave Frankfurt this summer for a fee in the region of €70 million. The club have resigned themselves to losing him.
Man Utd have reportedly been scouting Brown closely in recent months. The interest has remained despite the sacking of Ruben Amorim, who was very vocal about his desire to sign a new left wing-back.
Arsenal, Liverpool also want Brown
BILD has now provided an update on the situation of the 22-year-old, claiming that most of Europe’s top clubs are chasing the Frankfurt star. Arsenal, Barcelona, Liverpool, Man City and Real Madrid are explicitly named.
The German tabloid further asserts that Brown may not cost upwards of €70m, but that he could instead be signed for around €65m or potentially even less. This, it is claimed, is due to Frankfurt needing to sell.
The Bundesliga side have become excellent producers and sellers of strikers in recent years, but highly-rated sporting director Markus Krosche seems to have lost his Midas touch.
Recent signings have not really worked out, with Elye Wahi – who cost north of €20m – proving a particularly disastrous acquisition. A lot of money has been spent in recent windows with next to no return on these investments so far.
Brown has therefore become one of the most valuable assets at Frankfurt, making him a prime candidate to fetch a sizeable fee this summer.
