Man Utd are “in the front row” alongside Chelsea to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic but Bayern Munich are also in the race.

That is according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that United and Chelsea are favourites for the Serbian in the January transfer market.

The report adds that Bayern have mde enquiries in recent days for the 25-year-old, also.

Bayern are looking for a striker in January as they are too reliant on Harry Kane.

Vlahovic to leave Juventus

The Bianconeri are ready to sell Vlahovic in January in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer in July.

Vlahovic’s contract expires at the end of the season and Juventus will try to sell Vlahovic in a cut-price deal in January.

Juventus have three strikers in Vlahovic, Jonathan David and Lois Openda playing for one position and so are happy to sell the Serbian.

It has been reported elsewhere that Man Utd have been offered Vlahovic at a bargain price, having already turned down the chance to sign him in the summer for €20-25 million.

He was offered to United multiple times in the summer and they considered making an official move.

However, in the end, United opted to snub Vlahovic, who remained in Turin for the start of the 2025-26 season.

Instead of spending €20-25m on Vlahovic (albeit with a higher salary), United splashed out as much as €85m on Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.

Sesko has had a difficult start to his career at Old Trafford.

There have been reports that United could offer Joshua Zirkzee in exchange for Vlahovic.

Juventus signed Vlahovic from Fiorentina in January 2022 for €80m but he has not lived up to the promise he showed in Florence, despite still managing a respectful tally of 62 goals in 152 games.
