Manchester United are ready to go head-to-head with Chelsea in the race to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan next summer.
The Red Devils were keen on landing an experienced goalkeeper earlier this summer and were linked with a move for Aston Villa‘s Emiliano Martinez.
However, they could not agree on personal terms with the Argentine and ended up signing Senne Lammens from Antwerp instead.
Lammens has yet to make his debut for the Red Devils, but there are concerns that he is relatively inexperienced after just one full season.
TalkSport now claim that the Mancunian giants could pursue an experienced solution next summer as Bayindir could be shown the exit door.
Bayindir has been the regular in goal for the Red Devils this term, but he has been pretty vulnerable from corners as well as his passes.
Maignan has been identified as a possible solution. He could be signed on a pre-contract in January with his Milan deal expiring next summer.
The Frenchman is a brilliant distributor with superb reflexes. Chelsea are also admirers and there could be a battle for his services.
