Manchester United are reportedly keen on landing Napoli midfielder Eljif Elmas when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
The Red Devils are expected to reinforce their midfield department ahead of next season with the possibility of more than one departure.
Casemiro is set to depart when his contract expires this summer, while Manuel Ugarte could push for an exit too for regular game time.
Tuttomercatoweb now claim that United are weighing up a move for Elmas, who could be sold by Napoli after they trigger his buy clause.
The Serie A outfit re-signed the 26-year-old from RB Leipzig on loan last summer and they have the option to purchase him for €16m.
It is claimed that the Naples side will activate the clause before considering his departure for a reasonable profit during the summer.
United are said to be big admirers of the midfielder’s versatility and it remains to be seen whether they will make a formal approach.
