Manchester United are unlikely to pursue a deal for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba this summer, according to journalist David Ornstein.
The Red Devils have primarily focused on bolstering the attack this summer and have signed Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
Their next priority is a defensive midfielder. Baleba has given the green light for a transfer, but a deal is unlikely to materialise in the current window.
It was previously reported that Brighton could sell him for £100 million, but the Seagulls now have no plans of entertaining his exit for any kind of fee.
Baleba has a big desire to join the Mancunian giants, but he is unlikely to push for an exit. He is willing to stay at Brighton and move next summer.
United still need to find a different solution as manager Ruben Amorim is keen on landing a holding midfielder before the transfer window closes.
They could turn to Sporting CP midfielder Morten Hjulmand.
