Manchester United have no plans of bolstering their first-team squad this summer after the interim appointment of Michael Carrick as manager.
The Red Devils recently confirmed Carrick as their temporary head coach until the summer, and he will take charge of the Manchester derby this weekend.
Ahead of the game, there have been claims that the club could reinforce the squad with a signing or two. Al-Hilal star Ruben Neves has been heavily linked so far.
ESPN now claim that the Red Devils have no desire to strengthen the squad under Carrick’s reign and will wait until the summer to contemplate team changes.
United’s hierarchy believe they have a squad capable of qualifying for the Champions League via a top-four or top-five league finish, and are unlikely to spend this winter.
The Red Devils are planning to bring in two marquee midfielders in the summer. It could coincide with the exits of Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte.
