Manchester United have no plans of parting ways with midfielder Kobbie Mainoo in any kind of deal during the ongoing transfer window, according to ESPN.
The England international has been pushing for a loan move away from the Mancunian giants amid his lack of playing time in the Premier League.
Mainoo has yet to start a league game for the club this campaign, and he was completely out-of-favour under former head coach Ruben Amorim.
Amorim’s dismissal has changed the entire dynamic. The club have hired Michael Carrick on an interim basis for the remainder of the season.
Carrick is a huge admirer of Mainoo and has personally talked up his potential and strengths during a podcast with Rio Ferdinand recently.
Mainoo is expected to be reintegrated into the midfield as a regular starter with the expected change from a 3-4-2-1 formation to a 4-2-3-1 set-up.
Hence, United have no desire to entertain Mainoo’s exit this winter. They hold a similar stance on Joshua Zirkzee and Tyrell Malacia too.
