Manchester United and Manchester City have made contact with Atalanta for midfielder Ederson, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Ederson is one of the best midfielders in Serie A. He has been touted to pursue a new challenge during the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian has already received lucrative bids from the Saudi Pro League, but United and City are also keen on landing his signature.
The Mancunian giants have made contact with Atalanta recently. It will reportedly take between €40-45 million to convince them.
United have lacked a solid defensive midfielder in their ranks. Manuel Ugarte has been inconsistent while Casemiro is no longer in his prime.
Ederson would be a perfect candidate to add to the squad.
City, on the other hand, are looking to add more quality and depth in their ranks. United could be favourites if a starting role is a priority.
Ederson has also been linked with Premier League champions Liverpool in the past, but the Merseyside giants are yet to make an approach.
