Man Utd midfielder McTominay ‘agrees personal terms’

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has agreed personal terms with Napoli, according to reports.

Italian publication Corriere dello Sport has stated that the Scotland international has agreed a deal in principle over a deal, but a sticking point is the €30 million that the Red Devils have asked for.

The outlet states that Napoli “don’t give up on Scott McTominay of United” and that he has given his “approval” on the salary. But the “problem is the 30 million requested by Man Utd.”

Gazzetta dello Sport has been at the heart of the story in recent days, too. They say McTominay’s possible move to the Diego Maradona Stadium is inextricably linked with Romelu Lukaku.

Napoli need to sell before they can buy, with Victor Osimhen‘s future still uncertain. The Nigeria international has been linked with moves to Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, but so far no clubs have made a firm offer.

Napoli want Lukaku to replace Osimhen should he depart. Any deal for McTominay hinges on the striker leaving. “There was still no opening as of yesterday from Chelsea to the overall offer of around thirty million for Lukaku’s contract (between fixed and variable parts), still considered too far from the 43 million that are the figure established for the Big Rom clause,” the paper says.

“The Osimhen situation does not help, as he is not willing to meet the needs of Napoli, who would like to obtain the resources from his transfer to complete the incoming market.

“The Nigerian has promised himself to PSG (who remain on the sidelines waiting for news), while Chelsea could only think of him on loan.”

How Goncalo Ramos’ injury may change all of this

PSG are currently the bottleneck, but the injury sustained by striker Goncalo Ramos may force them into action, according to a report from RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins.

Ramos picked up a serious ankle injury in Les Parisiens‘ season-opening 4-1 away win against Le Havre – and may even require surgery.

Ramos assisted PSG’s first goal, scored by Lee Kang-in, but then went down injured.

He was pictured wearing a protective boot and now PSG may need to reconsider their options in the market.
