Man Utd nightmare: AC Milan CHOOSE Walker over Rashford

AC Milan have decided to pursue Kyle Walker over Marcus Rashford, according L’Equipe and Fabrizio Romano.

The Rossoneri have been in talks with both wantaway England internationals in recent days. Rashford wants out of Man Utd, while Man City captain Walker is determined to head abroad for what could be the final contract of his career.

However, the problem AC Milan face is that they can’t sign both this month. Due to Brexit, Serie A changed its rules ahead of the campaign and Italian clubs are now permitted to sign only one British player per transfer window.

It means that Milan have had to make a decision over which star to pursue. According to L’Equipe and Fabrizio Romano, this decision has now been made, and it is not good news for Man Utd, who are hoping to shift Rashford’s massive wages.

Milan choose Walker

The French outlet reports that Milan have dropped their interest in Rashford to pursue a deal for Walker, with whom significant progress is already being made.

Romano has been more cautious in his reporting, simply stating that a deal for the Man City captain is advancing to the ‘final stages’ without explicitly mentioning Rashford.

Walker is set to sign a deal until 2027 with the Italian giants. The 34-year-old snubbed interest from Saudi Arabia to remain in Europe, similar to Rashford.

It is unclear what exactly this means for the 27-year-old Man Utd outcast. English sources have repeatedly insisted that it can’t be discounted that Rashford remains at Old Trafford, but the fact of the matter is that Ruben Amorim clearly doesn’t want to use him.

Rashford still has suitors of course. His brother and agent Dwaine Maynard has held talks with Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, with the latter said to be stepping up their interest amid their results crisis.

However, it will be an eminently difficult deal for the Bundesliga side considering the money Rashford is on and there is no guarantee that Dortmund will be able to pull it off.
