Man Utd back in for Branthwaite

Manchester United are preparing a renewed £50 million bid to sign Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite this summer, according to The Sun.

The Red Devils were keen on landing the England international earlier in June, but they were unable to reach an agreement with the Toffees.

Their second offer of around £45m was turned down by the Merseyside outfit, who made it clear that they wanted at least £70m for the 22-year-old.

The Sun now claim that United could revive their pursuit of the Englishman following a long-term ankle injury sustained by Leny Yoro.

United have revealed that Yoro could be out for three months after an ankle surgery, but it is reported that he may not return until January.

The Mancunian giants are prepared to test the Toffees’ resolve with a £50m following their failed takeover by Roma owner Dan Friedkin.

United have already agreed personal terms with Branthwaite over a long-term contract worth around £155,000 per week, as per The Times.
