Rasmus Hojlund has been backed by Manchester United stars both past and present following his latest social media post. The striker moved to Serie A champions Napoli on a season-long loan deal this summer after being told he wasn’t in Ruben Amorim’s plans at Old Trafford.
Despite initially wanting to remain at the Theatre of Dreams and battle for his spot, even with the signings of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, his choice to depart appears to have paid off. Hojlund managed just four Premier League goals for United last term, playing a part in the club’s dismal 15th-place campaign in England’s elite division.
But in merely six outings between Serie A and the Champions League, the Danish international has already equalled that strike rate under Napoli manager Antonio Conte.

The frontman has now posted an update on social media whilst representing Denmark during the international break. The 22-year-old has netted twice during the current October fixtures.
“A wise man once said: “Goals are like ketchup. Once they come, they keep on coming,” he wrote on Instagram. Hojlund’s message has attracted likes from Denmark and United team-mate Patrick Dorgu and ex-Red Devils star Christian Eriksen and Mbeumo.
Meanwhile, Denmark’s gaffer Brian Riemer took a subtle swipe at United over Hojlund’s form for Napoli.
Speaking to TipsBladet about whether Hojlund can still make it in England, Riemer stated: “I think Rasmus has the quality for both leagues, without discussion.
“Does he fit in Italian football? Yes. There was no doubt about that, because he had already proven that.
“But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t fit in English football. On the contrary, I would almost say.
“He added: “The fact that he is now on a well-functioning team and has players around him who take pride in doing good for others helps to make the outcome for a striker like Rasmus, who needs to be serviced. It is more important than which league you play in.”
