Man Utd ‘serious’ about beating Arsenal to summer transfer for WORLD CLASS €80m star

Manchester United are reportedly ‘serious’ about beating Arsenal to bringing an international superstar back to the Premier League in an €80 million summer move.

The Red Devils have been buoyed by their recent turnaround in form after sacking Ruben Amorim, which has led to four wins in five matches under Michael Carrick leaving United fourth in the Premier League table.

Champions League qualification for next season would significantly boost United’s finances and, with the club keen to bring in a new left winger in the summer, CaughtOffside report that they could be ‘in the mix’ to sign Christian Pulisic from Milan.

Pulisic has been a standout performer for Milan since joining them from Chelsea in 2023 for €20m but the 27-year-old is believed to be considering his future and resisting offers to extend his contract.

Milan are keen to keep hold of their star man and there is a desire to extend his contract but it is claimed that the Italian giants are ‘open to listening to offers’ in the €70-80m range in order to finance a squad overhaul.

Tottenham are said to see Pulisic as ‘the dynamic wide option they’ve been missing’, while Arsenal ‘value’ the American’s ‘goalscoring ability’ but, with United also allegedly viewing him as a ‘serious’ target, a summer saga could develop for the in-demand forward.

United set to splash cash on new left winger this summer

Pulisic was named in the Serie A team of the season last year for the second consecutive time and the ex-Chelsea star has netted eight league goals in this campaign.

However, Pulisic is understood to be frustrated at having missed out on European football this year, while Milan currently sit eight points behind rivals in Inter at the top of the table, albeit with a game in hand.

United are expecting to bank around €30m in pure profit from selling Marcus Rashford this summer, particularly with Barcelona planning to turn the England international’s loan into a permanent move.

That sale would pave the way for United to strengthen at left wing, with the likes of Yan Diomande and Iliman Ndiaye being considered, but Pulisic could provide a different calibre of proven ability that tempts the club into splashing the cash on his signature.
