Man Utd & Spurs enter fight to sign Brazilian star

United & Spurs want to land Victor

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to battle it out for the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper John Victor, according to UOL Sport.

The Red Devils currently have Andre Onana as an undisputed goalkeeper, but there are questions regarding his handling and long shot saving skills.

United want a quality deputy in their ranks and Victor has been identified as the top target to replace Altay Bayindir, who could be on the move in January.

Bayindir arrived from Fenerbahce in the summer of 2023, but he has barely featured for the Red Devils with just three appearances in all competitions.

The Turkish ace has failed to impress different managers in training and he could make way for the arrival of another shot-stopper this winter.

Meanwhile, Spurs are also likely to compete with United for Victor following the serious injury suffered by Guglielmo Vicario last month.

Botafogo recently won the Serie A and Copa Libertadores titles with Victor in goal. They are expected to demand around €20m for his services.
