Casemiro and his Manchester United teammates have been left ‘shocked’ by Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s recent criticism, according to a report.
The Red Devils’s co-owner gave several interviews earlier this week in the build-up to the announcement of Man Utd’s new state-of-the-art stadium. Ratcliffe spoke to the BBC, The Times and club legend Gary Neville for The Overlap and came out with some eye-catching quotes.
Given the current state of Man Utd, who are in the midst of their worst-ever Premier League season, Ratcliffe was peppered with questions on the club’s problematic financial situation and the players.

The INEOS billionaire insisted that it would take time to undo the mistakes of the past and admitted that there are currently several Man Utd players who are ‘not good enough’ and ‘overpaid.’
“We’re buying Antony, we’re buying Casemiro, we’re buying [Andre] Onana, we’re buying [Rasmus] Hojlund, we’re buying [Jadon] Sancho. These are all things from the past. We’ve inherited those things and we have to sort it out,” Ratcliffe said.
“It takes time for us to move away from the past and to a new place in the future… Some [players] are not good enough, some probably are overpaid.”

Casemiro shocked by Ratcliffe’s comments
Ratcliffe’s comments have inevitably made their way into the Man Utd dressing room and journalist Graeme Bailey claims that some players, chief among them Casemiro, have been left ‘shocked’ and ‘offended’ by the blunt criticism.
The Brazilian, who was already previously on the receiving end of harsh statements by Ratcliffe, is looking to leave Man Utd in the summer, with the club actively trying to push through a transfer this summer.

“United are still working hard with the [Saudi] Pro League to try and get him out, they are in constant contact with them,” Bailey told United in Focus. “They realise they are only place that can get him out and take his wages – if not they are looking at possible loans, which they are keen to avoid.
“We can also confirm that Casemiro is one of the players that have been left ‘shocked’ by Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s comments and has taken offence. This could complicate things. United would like the Brazilian to take a wage cut ahead of a possible move away but that looks unlikely now.”
