Manchester United could make a surprise approach to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen after missing out on Liam Delap to Chelsea, as per The Athletic.
The Red Devils were keen on landing Delap from Ipswich Town, but the 22-year-old decided to join the Blues instead after they qualified for the Champions League next season.
United are now looking for an alternative and reports claim that they could return for Osimhen, having spoken with his representative earlier this year.
Osimhen’s huge wage demands of more than £350,000 is a huge stumbling block, but United have not given up on the prospect of landing his services.
The Nigerian star spent the previous campaign on loan at Galatasaray. He scored 37 goals and provided eight assists from 41 appearances.
He is prepared to pursue a new challenge away from Naples. The Serie A outfit are ready to sell him for his release clause worth £64m.
They are willing to accept instalments to facilitate his transfer.
