Manchester United have reportedly made a formal offer to sign Atletico Madrid right-back Marcos Llorente.
The Red Devils have been underwhelming in the defensive scheme of things this term, and they have barely kept clean sheets.
They are likely to reinforce the defensive department this winter and Fichajes claim that a formal bid has been made for Llorente.
The Red Devils have tabled around £30 million for the services of the Spaniard, who can operate at right-back or in midfield.
United see him as an upgrade on Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui at right-back. It remains to be seen whether Atletico accept the offer.
Atletico turned down a loan move from the Red Devils for midfielder Conor Gallagher last summer, but could consider a cash offer for Llorente.
The Red Devils recently bowed out of the FA Cup in the third round.
They are scheduled to host Manchester City in the league on Saturday. Prior to that, Michael Carrick could take charge as the interim manager.
