Crystal Palace have reportedly set their asking price for Manchester United target Adam Wharton at €95 million ahead of a bidding war this summer.
The England international is widely expected to leave Selhurst Park following the conclusion of the 2025-26 season, with multiple elite European clubs keeping close tabs on his performances under Oliver Glasner.
Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur have all been heavily linked with a move for the 21-year-old in recent months, although Man Utd are considered to be the frontrunners in the race for his signature amid their pursuit of a new central midfielder.
The Red Devils are bracing for the departure of Casemiro when his contract expires in July and they are keen to land a high-quality replacement for the Brazil international this summer.
Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest) and Carlos Baleba (Brighton & Hove Albion) are also wanted by Michael Carrick’s side, but they are set to challenge for Wharton’s signature as they look to secure the services of a proven Premier League midfielder.
The Guardian have previously claimed that Wharton is likely to cost in the region of €75m ahead of next season, but Spanish publication Fichajes state that Crystal Palace will instead demand a fee of €95m.
Adam Wharton transfer update
It’s reported that Liverpool, Man Utd and Real Madrid have all initiated preliminary talks over a summer deal for Wharton, with the England star widely tipped to follow in the footsteps of international team-mates Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi by leaving Selhurst Park.
Real Madrid view him as a potentially cheaper alternative to fellow targets Vitinha and Enzo Fernandez, but Man Utd remain his most likely destination as things stand.
The Red Devils are reportedly ready to spend big on a new central midfielder this summer and a move for Wharton, Anderson or Baleba is widely expected to happen as they look to build a squad capable of fighting for major honours once again.
