Man Utd’s ridiculous Onana price tag

Man Utd are demanding up to €50 million for out-of-favour goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to Trabzonspor vice-president Zeyyat Kafkas.

The Cameroon international is spending the season on loan in Turkey, but he will return to Old Trafford in the summer. He is simply too expensive for Trabzonspor and wants to play in a top European league.

Onana’s price tag, if true, is completely detached from reality as his current Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at just €16m. Man Utd will be lucky to get half of their asking price this summer.

Man Utd could make ‘eyebrow-raising’ signing

Man Utd could make some leftfield midfield signings this summer, according to The Athletic journalist Andy Mitten.

Bolstering the engine room is Man Utd’s main priority after this season, and several of their top targets are already well known to the public. However, Mitten argues that there are also several as yet undisclosed players on the club’s radar.

Indeed, he states that there are a few potential options in Spain that “would absolutely raise eyebrows” if signed by the Old Trafford club this summer.

Man Utd to receive €80m windfall

Man Utd fully expect to receive around €80m from the sales of Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Both are currently out on loan and determined to stay at their clubs Barcelona and Napoli, respectively. Both deals contain permanent elements, which are expected to be triggered.

Man Utd have already received €6m from Napoli for Hojlund as a loan fee, and they will get an additional €44m when his stay is made permanent. As for Rashford, they will not renegotiate Barcelona’s €30m purchase option.

Additional funds from Greenwood?

Man Utd could also receive additional funds if Mason Greenwood leaves Marseille this summer, which is becoming increasingly likely, according to L’Equipe.

Even if OM manage to qualify for the Champions League, they could be forced to make some big-money sales, and Greenwood is among the club’s most valuable players. The exit of Roberto de Zerbi has only made his departure more likely.

Man Utd are due to receive 50% of the profit from the disgraced forward’s next move, having sold him to Marseille for €26m in 2024. A move to Saudi Arabia is a concrete possibility.

Kvaratskhelia could become an option

The situation of PSG winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is one to watch, according to L’Equipe, as his teammates are growing increasingly frustrated with him.

His performance levels have dipped, which has affected his confidence, attitude and decision-making. It has not developed into a big problem yet, but it is a story worth following in the context of Premier League giants looking for left-wingers this summer.

Interim Man Utd boss Michael Carrick confirmed this week that the Red Devils are likely to be in the market for a new left-winger after this season. They will surely be attentive to the Georgian’s situation.
