Manchester United are gearing up for their most crucial games of the season as they prepare to take on Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League. The Red Devils will welcome the Spanish side to Old Trafford for the second leg of their semi-final, in a dominant position after winning 3-0 away from home last week.

Ruben Amorim’s men are just 90 minutes away from securing a spot in the Europa League final, where they could potentially face either Tottenham Hotspur or Bodo/Glimt if they triumph over Bilbao. And victory in the final, which will be back at the San Mames Stadium, would secure them an unlikely path back into the Champions League next season.

Both United and Bilbao will be missing some key players when they clash at Old Trafford tonight. United will be without Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee, Lisandro Martinez, Diogo Dalot, Ayden Heaven, Toby Collyer due to injuries.

Jonny Evans and Christian Eriksen also missed Wednesday’s final training session, with the former arriving to Carrington 15 minutes after it was underway. Reports have suggested Eriksen will be fit to be in the squad, although there has been no update on Evans.

Amorim said: “It is not a big issue [for De Ligt]. That is a good thing. He cannot play tomorrow and he’ll not play on Sunday [against West Ham United at Old Trafford] but then we’ll check day-by-day. The rest, Ayden doesn’t recover. Toby is not available, I think that’s it.”

Bilbao also have a few players ruled out for the match against United. Most notably, Williams brothers Nico and Inaki have both not travelled to Manchester after picking up injuries.

The La Liga’s side top goalscorer Oihan Sancet will also miss the game through injury, while Dani Vivian is suspended following his red card in the first leg.

Here, we’ve compiled the full Man United and Athletic Bilbao squads expected to be available for the Europa League semi-final second leg, via the Manchester Evening News.
