Manchester United are preparing to replace midfielder Casemiro with Atalanta star Ederson next summer, according to TMW.
The Red Devils were widely tipped to offload Casemiro in the last transfer window, but there were no suitable offers at their disposal.
However, they are unlikely to keep him beyond the current campaign, considering he will enter the final year of his deal next summer.
It is now reported that United are firm admirers of Ederson and there is full approval within the club’s hierarchy to secure his services.
Ederson is unlikely to be permitted to leave the Serie A outfit in January, but Atalanta are prepared to sanction his sale in the summer.
The Serie A leaders are set to demand around £50m for the Brazilian ace, who has evolved into one of the best midfielders in the league.
United should have the upper land in securing his signature, having already recruited Rasmus Hojlund and Amad Diallo from Atalanta.
