Man Utd’s midfield solution? Ten Hag favourite wants to join

Adrien Rabiot is keen to join Manchester United, according to a report.

The Frenchman is a free agent and enjoying his time away from football while his eccentric mother and agent is talking to suitors. Despite his mother’s ‘pharaonic salary demands,’ the 29-year-old has no shortage of suitors.

Italian media revealed on Tuesday that Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool all hold a tentative interest in the midfielder. The former Man City prospect is desperate to experience the Premier League, so a move to England looks to be on the cards.

Man Utd have been most prominently linked with Rabiot, being associated with him during every summer window Erik ten Hag has so far overseen at Old Trafford.

Despite his Man City past, Rabiot is said to be keen on the switch to Man Utd.

Rabiot wants Man Utd but will take his time

This information comes courtesy of Ben Jacobs, who reports that the Frenchman is ‘interested’ in joining Man Utd. However, Rabiot will not be rushed into a premature decision on his future and could wait until the window closes before moving.

Moreover, there is still no guarantee that Man Utd will actually table a formal contract offer for the former Juventus star, though they are in the market for a midfielder.

It is thought that Rabiot would be well-suited to the Premier League, but whether he fits the profile of player Man Utd are looking for is doubtful, with Ten Hag keen on a No.6 who can cover a lot of ground.

Intriguingly, Jacobs disputes some of the previous reporting on Rabiot, claiming that Chelsea and Liverpool are not interested and that his wage demands have dropped.

As things stand, Manuel Ugarte of PSG is still Man Utd’s dream midfield target, while talks with Sander Berge of Burnley have also started, as revealed by FootballTransfers. The Rabiot saga, it seems, won’t be resolved anytime soon.
