Manchester United attempting to sign Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat on loan – Serie A News

Manchester United are reportedly looking to sign Sofyan Amrabat on loan before the transfer window closes. 

This is according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein who also reports the 27-year-old is keen to move to the Premier League giants. 

The Red Devils wanted a permanent deal for the talented midfielder but that is unlikely due to the club’s financial fair play situation. 

They are now pursuing a loan move for the Moroccan who has been training separately due to the uncertainty about his future. 

Fiorentina kicked off their new campaign with an impressive 4-1 win over Genoa in their league opener. But the subsequent home encounter saw them falling to a 2-2 draw. 

Amrabat wasn’t part of the starting XI in both matches and it is likely that he will have left the club by the time they take on Inter Milan, available to watch via Serie A live streams. 

The 27-year-old came to the Florence-based side in 2020 and established himself as a key member of the first-team. 

He made over 100 senior appearances during the last three years at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. 

The former Feyenoord star mainly plays as a defensive midfielder but he can be deployed in central midfield as well. 

His stocks received a huge boost after his performances for Morocco at the 2022 World Cup. 

He played an instrumental role in helping his country finish fourth in the prestigious competition, starting all seven matches. 

The player’s contract at Fiorentina will expire in 2024 but the Serie A side want a €30 million fee including bonuses to part with him this summer.
