Manchester United have reportedly shortlist four players for the summer transfer window, with the club looking to move to players entering the final year of their contracts.
According to ESPN, the Red Devils will adopt the policy in the summer due to finances remaining tight as the club bids to remain within the Premier League‘s profit and sustainability rules.
Man United, under new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, reportedly believe the approach would help to manage their summer spending.
Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich is among the names claimed to be under consideration by the Red Devils.
Kimmich, 28, is contract to the German champions until 2025 but has been linked with a summer exit.

The Canadian left back has been strongly tipped to join Real Madrid should he fail to agree a contract extension at Bayern beyond 2025.
Lille striker Jonathan David, another Canadian international, and Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram are also claimed to be on Man United’s four-man shortlist.
David would provide reinforcement in attack, with the forward having scored 71 goals in 164 games for Lille, including 13 in 28 matches this season.
