Marcus Rashford appeared to bite back at his critics after the Manchester United legend was recently slammed for ‘looking upset with everybody’.

Rashford has faced scrutiny this season having scored just four times in 26 matches for the Red Devils.

It marked a significant dip after the forward netted 30 goals in 56 games last season, his best return in a campaign.

The 26-year-old has scored in his last two Premier League appearances, with his latest a superb finish in Man United‘s 2-2 draw against Tottenham.

Rashford celebrated his first goal at Old Trafford this season by gesturing a mouth with his hand, which appeared to reference to outside noise and criticism directed at him.

Man United legend Roy Keane, when asked about the gesture, questioned why Rashford appeared to be ‘upset.’

‘We need to see more, he’s showed it before, he’s got the quality,’ Keane told Sky Sports.

‘Why does he seem to be upset with everybody? He’s got to go and enjoy it he’s playing for Man United.’

Rashford appeared to make an indirect reference to Keane’s comments on social media, as the forward shared photos of himself looking upbeat in training with the Man United squad.

‘So, he does smile.’ Have a great day, my people!’ Rashford’s caption read alongside the beaming photograph.

The England star had previously confirmed his celebration had been aimed at critics who called him out for being disloyal to United after commenting on Jadon Sancho ‘s Instagram post confirming his move back to Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho was exiled from Erik ten Hag’s first-team squad at United over disciplinary issues and has been sent to spend the remainder of the season on loan away from Old Trafford in Germany.

Rashford commented ‘Yesirrrrr’ alongside a heart on a picture posted by Sancho of him taking part in Dortmund training, with many United supporters annoyed by his show of support.

He confirmed that his celebration against Tottenham was referencing the incident when a fan posted an explanation online, stating: ‘He’s clearly referring to the abuse he’s been subjected to this week since he commented on Sancho’s post.

‘They literally questioned his loyalty and commitment to us, and he did shut them up by scoring AND assisting. If he didn’t score, he’s s***e, if he does it’s this BS.’

Rashford surprisingly replied by posting online: ‘Thank you for clarifying this matter.’
