Marseille, on the other hand, are 25th in the Champions League table with just three points from four games. The French outfit have struggled in Europe, suffering defeats to Atalanta, Sporting, and Real Madrid with their only win coming in a convincing 4-0 triumph over Ajax.

Domestically, Marseille are enjoying a strong campaign, sitting 2nd in Ligue 1 with 28 points from 13 matches, just two behind leaders PSG. Their recent form has been solid, with three wins, a draw, and a loss from their last five, including a commanding 5-1 victory over Nice. Over 2.5 goals have been scored in three of their last five games, while both teams have found the net in five of their last eight.

Marseille have lost just one of their last five home matches, but their struggles in Europe may limit the impact of home advantage against a confident Newcastle side. All things considered, this looks set to be an entertaining contest, with a draw the most likely outcome.
