Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Kieran Tierney could be in contention to start in tomorrow’s Champions League clash against Monaco at the Emirates Stadium.
The north London giants have been in brilliant form since the international break with four wins and one draw in all competitions.
They will be aiming to keep up the good form against Monaco and ahead of the game, the club have a major injury crisis to contend with.
Arsenal are without Jurrien Timber, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Riccardo Calafiori and Takehiro Tomiyasu, who can all play from left-back.
This could pave the way for Tierney to start, according to Arteta.
He said: “Yeah, he is ready and he’s training really well and he’s going to have an opportunity for sure with the way the team is looking at the moment.”
Tierney has not featured for the Gunners since the Community Shield game in 2023 and he could make his long-waited comeback tomorrow.
The Scottish star was expected to be sold over the summer, but he picked up a hamstring injury at Euro 2024 which blocked his departure.
Tierney now has the opportunity to impress for the Gunners in the festive period. He is most likely to be offloaded at the turn of the year.
