Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka will be out for more than two months after undergoing a hamstring surgery.
The Gunners have had an underwhelming campaign in the Premier League and they are six points behind leaders Liverpool after 18 games.
The club recently suffered a huge blow with Saka picking up a hamstring injury and he has now undergone an operation for the same.
Arteta confirmed the news after the win over Ipswich Town and added that he could be on the sidelines for more than two months at least.
He said: “I said many weeks, so I think it will be more than two months. I don’t know exactly how much longer, I think it will depend, you know.”
Gabriel Martinelli played on the right wing in Saka’s absence, but Raheem Sterling could compete for places with him in the near future.
Sterling has been nursing a knee injury over the past week, but Arteta has confirmed that he could return to first-team action pretty soon.
