AC Milan boss Sergio Conceicao has been quizzed on Marcus Rashford as a transfer of the Manchester United winger edges ever closer.
The Red Devils homegrown is on his way out after admitting last month that he is ready for a new challenge. With Man Utd desperate to raise funds and make room in their squad, club chiefs are working to facilitate Rashford’s exit.
A host of enquiries have reached Man Utd’s headquarters in recent days, with clubs from Germany, Italy, Saudi Arabia and Turkey expressing an interest in signing the England international, while even Arsenal have held exploratory talks regarding the potential feasibility of a move.

So far, however, one club in particular has been the most active in pursuit of the 27-year-old: AC Milan. Rashford’s brother and agent Dwaine Maynard has already held formal talks with the Rossoneri and all parties appear keen for the move to go through.
Man Utd are open to loaning Rashford out this month, though there is an acceptance that they will have to shoulder a sizeable chunk of his massive salary. Indeed, the biggest stumbling block still appears to be how much Milan are actually able to pay the winger.

Conceicao responds to Rashford links
On Friday, new AC Milan head coach Sergio Conceicao was quizzed about the links with Rashford ahead of his side’s game with Cagliari. While the Portuguese was coy about whether a move is in the offing, he did praise the England international for being a ‘good player.’
“You try in every way,” Conceicao jokingly responded when asked out of the blue if Rashford would improve Milan. “In Portugal, it’s even worse. Here we talk about football, then every now and then someone tries this.

“Rashford is a good player like many others, some are on the market, others are not, let’s see what happens.”
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, Milan are hard at work trying to engineer a deal. Attacker Noah Okafor is on the verge of joining RB Leipzig in a move that would free up space for Rashford.
