Milan eye Monaco forward Embolo as alternative to Hojlund – Football Italia

Milan are monitoring Monaco forward Breel Embolo, as reports from Italy claim that the Rossoneri have identified the Swiss international as a possible alternative should their pursuit in Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund end up fruitless.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, via IlMilanista, Embolo is a very serious candidate for Milan if they are unable to wrap up a deal for Danish striker Hojlund.

Reportedly, the former Monchengladbach man has fallen out with senior figures at Monaco and his agents have been insistently offering the striker to the Rossoneri.

Embolo in numbers: Milan’s potential new #9?

Last season, Embolo scored six goals in 29 Ligue 1 games for the Monegasque side, additionally scoring one goal in ten Champions League fixtures.

Since signing for the Ligue 1 side, the striker has played in 89 games in all competitions, scoring 22 times.

The Swiss international, who has 77 appearances for his national side, joined Monaco in 2022 from Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach, for a fee believed to be a little over €12 million.
