Fabrizio Romano has dropped a major transfer update as Liverpool seek to close out the blockbuster summer transfer of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.

The Reds have been chasing Kerkez for several weeks now, with the Hungary international left-back expected to challenger or perhaps even replace Andy Robertson in Arne Slot’s starting XI for next season.

A deal worth €53 million (£45m) is on the cards with Bournemouth and Romano has offered an update that will delight fans of the Anfield club.

“Milos Kerkez is not listening to any other calls or approaches as he’s going to join Liverpool. It’s just matter of time and technical steps,” Romano says.

Kerkez looks likely to become Liverpool’s third new signing of the summer, with right-back Jeremie Frimpong already signed from Bayer Leverkusen and compatriot Armin Pecsi having arrived from Puskas AFC.

On top of this duo, shot-stopper Giorgi Mamardashvili will finally hook up with the Reds after spending last season on loan at Valencia.

What’s happening with Florian Wirtz?

Romano also has no doubts that the move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz will soon be finalised – although he does not want to commit to putting a final price on a move that was announced on Friday.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said: “The agreement is done between Florian Wirtz and Liverpool, but also between Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen. The club-to-club agreement is done. Now there’s a battle in the media because Liverpool are informing about the lower fee of around €138m, Bayer Leverkusen consider the fee to be €150m plus very difficult add ons. But for sure the deal is completely done. Liverpool have signed Florian Wirtz,” Romano said.

“Why is the deal not official? Because he’s on holiday. As soon as he returns, he’ll take his medical and sign his contract.”

Once Wirtz and Kerkez are done, Liverpool are also on the lookout for another attacking player, though they may need to sell Darwin Nunez to fund such a move.
