Mohamed Salah has provided an update on his Liverpool future after starring in the Reds’ 3-0 win over Liverpool.

Salah’s future has been the source of speculation with the 32-year-old now into the final year of his contract.

He continued his impressive record against United on Sunday with a second-half strike after Luis Diaz had scored a brace.

And Salah afterwards admitted it may have been his last appearance at Old Trafford given that he may depart Merseyside next summer.

‘Yeah, to be fair, I was coming to the game. I said, Look, it could be a last time,’ he said speaking to Sky Sports.

‘Nobody talked to me yet about contracts. So I just like, Okay, I played my last season here at end of season. but so far, yeah, my last game here was Liverpool.

‘it’s not up to me. But nobody talk to me about the from the club, but we will see.’

Salah’s former team-mate Daniel Sturridge meanwhile says he would be surprised if the forward was to leave at the end of the season.

‘I’d be surprised. I’d be surprised. I’d be surprised. I think Mo has obviously achieved pretty much everything he could at the club, but I’ve not seen him happier,’ Sturridge said.

‘The way he was speaking then was as if, like, you know, I want to be at the club. If the club are going to give him what he wants, then he’s going to stay. That’s inevitably what’s going to happen.

‘But the way he looked there, he looked happy to me. I’ve not seen him smiling ear to ear like that before. So to be fair, I really hope he does stay, because he’s been mad.’

Roy Keane says the decision to renew will be down to Salah himself and he won’t be short of options should he decide to leave.

Keane said: ‘He’s in control of all of that. Yeah, I know the clubs have policies about lending contract when players get to 31/32 whatever Liverpool’s situation is, but he’s in total control of that.

‘He’ll decide what he’s going to do, whatever contract they might come up with, you think they’ll obviously have to offer him the contract.

‘He’s an amazing player, but he will have, we’ll put it this way, he will have plenty of options.
