Mohamed Salah has ‘received interest’ from two of Liverpool‘s biggest European rivals as the saga over his Anfield contract, which ends next summer, gathers pace.
The Reds legend dropped a bombshell after the side’s 3-0 win away at bitter rivals Manchester United on September 1, admitting it might be his last season at the club.
Salah has been at Liverpool since joining from Roma in 2017 and in that time he has won the Premier League, the Champions League, and a flurry of other trophies, while making 352 appearances and scoring 214 goals.
His contract is set to expire at the end of June 2025 and the Egyptian’s recent comments have triggered a wave of speculation over his future, with many expecting the forward to move to Saudi Arabia.
But it seems Salah could end up staying in Europe, running the risk of facing the side where he became an icon in a Champions League fixture, El Nacional reports.

Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are thought to be interested in the 32-year-old and have both enquired into the player in a bid to tempt him into staying in the continent.
The French side are reportedly keen to boost an already strong frontline consisting of Ousmane Dembele, Marco Asensio and Bradley Barcola.
Meanwhile, a newly ambitious Juventus team are looking to inject Salah’s experience of scoring goals and performing on the big stage into their lineup.
Either way, hunting the Egyptian seems like a no-brainer for any top European side, with an electric dribbler and clinical finisher potentially up for grabs on a free transfer.
They will have to fight against Salah’s desire to stay at the Anfield club, however, with the forward said to be ‘desperate’ to sign a new contract, according to the Liverpool Echo.
This comes in the wake of heavy interest from Saudi Arabian sides, including Al-Ittihad, over the last year – with such clubs likely able to blow their European counterparts out of the water when it comes to a lucrative salary.
The Egyptian has been reportedly deterred by the plummeting reputation of former teammate Sadio Mane since he made the switch to the Middle East.
The flurry of rumours over Salah’s future was ignited after he set up the first two goals for Luis Diaz and claimed the third himself in a the dominant win over United.
The late finish meant he has scored on each of his last seven visits to Old Trafford with an incredible haul of 10 goals. In total, the Egypt star has scored 15 times in 16 games against United.

After the match, he admitted he was unsure what was coming next in his career and said: ‘I was coming to the game and I said,”look, it could be the last time (at Old Trafford)”.
‘Nobody from the club has talked to me yet about contracts. It’s not up to me, it’s up to the club but we will see.
‘As you know, it’s my last year in the club. I just want to enjoy it. I don’t want to think about it (the contract). I feel I’m free to play football and we’ll see what’s going to happen next year.’
