The three Serie A games scheduled for Saturday, Como-Genoa, Inter-Roma and Lazio-Parma could be rearranged as Pope Francis’ funeral will be held on the same day.

Multiple sources in Italy claim that the three Serie A Week 34 matches —Como-Genoa, Inter-Roma, and Lazio-Parma —intended to be played on Saturday, could be rescheduled for a later date.

The Lazio-Parma game is highly likely to be rearranged, as it is scheduled to be played at 20:45 CET in Rome, where a few hours later, Pope Francis’ funeral will be held.

Gazzetta and other sources claim that Lega Serie A are expected to confirm the game’s postponement to Monday, April 28, at 20:45 CET.

Four Serie A matches scheduled for Monday were rearranged following the Pope’s death. As a result, Parma-Juventus, Lazio-Genoa, Cagliari-Fiorentina, and Torino-Udinese will now be played on Wednesday, April 23, instead.

It remains to be seen whether the Inter-Roma and Como-Genoa matches, scheduled for next Saturday, will also be rearranged by Lega Serie A.
