Bayern Munich had no problems against Union Berlin, winning 5-1 in the German capital.

Despite missing a number of key players, Bayern Munich crushed Union Berlin 5-1 at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei on Saturday night.

Thomas Tuchel made six changes to the side that beat Arsenal in midweek, with Leroy Sané and Jamal Musiala among those rested.

Mathys Tel was handed a rare start and provided the assist for Bayern’s opener in the 29th minute, picking out Leon Goretzka who fired high and in off the underside of the crossbar.

Harry Kane doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time, curling a free-kick behind Frederik Rønnow in the Union Berlin goal.

Thomas Müller effectively put the game out of Union’s reach early in the second half, shooting high after a great lofted pass from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

Mathys Tel scored to make it 4-0 before Müller added his second of the evening with a header to put Bayern five up.

Yorbe Vertessen pulled one back for Union in stoppage time, but his goal was just a consolation.

The win leaves second-placed Bayern three points clear of nearest chasers Stuttgart, who face Werder Bremen on Sunday. Union are 14th, just three points above the relegation zone.
