After yesterday’s 4-0 win over Frankfurt, Thomas Müller made it clear that he holds no gripes towards Lothar Matthäus’ comments from last week.

After a brief 42-second cameo against Celtic in Bayern’s Champions League play-off second-leg draw with Celtic, Matthäus stated Müller’s involvement was “embarrassing”.

Müller brought clarity to the situation saying he has full faith in Vincent Kompany and had no issue with his bit-part role on the night:

“I’m in good exchange with the coach. I’m there when I’m needed. It [the substitution] wasn’t humiliating.

“I’m not one of those people who have any sensitivities. The coach decides what he decides.

“I’d rather play for 15 seconds than not at all and the coach knows that as well.

“The coach makes the decisions to the best of his knowledge. Everything is fine,” Müller explained.

Die Rekordmeister squeezed past the Scottish champions 3-2 on aggregate to set up a last-16 tie with Bayer Leverkusen in March.
