HSV are interested in the Austrian international.
As the ‘Hamburger Abendblatt’ and Sky Germany report, HSV are considering a bid for Stefan Posch from FC Bologna.
Talks are already underway between the two clubs, but an agreement has yet to be reached at the time of writing.
However, Posch himself has already committed to Hanseatic club given his contract is set to expire next summer.
A transfer of the 28-year-old would provide the newly promoted club with a truly versatile option in defence.
The former Hoffenheim player can play in central defense as well as at right-back, thus covering both of Hamburg’s problem positions.
Financially, he would have to accept significant cuts compared to Atalanta Bergamo/Bologna – a decision is expected soon.
