Talks between Napoli and Milan over USMNT midfielder Yunus Musah have ground to a worrying halt, and as things stand, discussions between the two clubs have stopped.

Where Napoli and Milan stand in Musah talks

Reports last week claimed that Napoli and Milan were close to sealing an agreement for the transfer of Musah, however, in reality, not a lot has progressed since then.

Napoli have grown frustrated by the news being leaked and Milan’s request for an increased transfer fee. Football Italia understands that the Rossoneri rejected a €23m offer from the Partenopei, which is greater than the €21.2m that Milan paid to sign Musah from Valencia two years ago.

The Partenopei, meanwhile, believe that they have presented the Rossoneri with an offer that is more than fair, for a midfielder that Antonio Conte has already approved.

However, there has not been any real progression in talks between the two clubs over the last week, and as things stand, communications have stopped.

There are not currently any future meetings scheduled between the relevant parties and now, the situation is in a dangerous standby phase, for now at least.
